This final mark is calculated from the average for both exams. To calculate the average, you must have obtained a mark of four points out of ten or above for each of the exams.

Once you have passed the PAP, it is valid indefinitely.

There are two sittings per year: ordinary in April and extraordinary in July. Registration must be made at the University admissions portal within the established deadlines.

* The students that pass the PAP in extraordinary sitting will be able to accredit this result as of September pre-enrolment period.

The following candidates must take the PAP:

  • Upper secondary school (Batxillerat) students.
  • Advanced-level training cycle students (CFGS).
  • Students from all foreign education systems.
  • Students who gain university admission through the pathway for over-25s, over-40s, or over-45s.
  • Students who DO NOT meet the PAP conditions defined for pre-enrolment in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Exam Language:

Students from education systems outside of Catalonia will have exam papers written in the Spanish language and can answer in Spanish.

These students must previously make a request to our office or to any of our regional offices.

The exam for the rest of students will be in Catalan and they will have to answer in Catalan.

In the case of students with dyslexia, the criteria to correct the communicative competence and critical reasoning test (CCIRC) will be the same as those established for the university entrance exam (PAU).

In order to benefit from more time in the test and/or specific correction criteria in the CCIRC exam, the student must previously prove his/her condition in the University Admissions Office or any of its sub-offices.
